Eastwick (TV series)

Eastwick is an American fantasy television series created by Maggie Friedman. The series is an adaptation of the book The Witches of Eastwick by John Updike. The series was produced by Curly Girly in association with Warner Bros. Television and launched on 23 September 2009 on ABC.

Action

The series follows the lives of three women Roxanne, Joanna and Kat, who meet at a wishing well. A mysterious man named Darryl Van Horne moves to Eastwick; Following an unspecified plan he makes the three women friends and continues her supernatural powers freely.

Production

The series is based on the book The Witches of Eastwick in 1984 and the film of the same name. While the book was written by John Updike, the series that deal with the awakening of female strength and magical and real at the same time should be developed by Maggie Friedman. ABC ordered it in early 2009 as a series. Turned it was at the Warner Bros. Studios in the same city in which even Gilmore Girls was filmed by The WB. Rotation start was in August 2009 when all roles were occupied. ABC decided the series on Wednesday by 22 clock to have to start following the also new comedy series Cougar Town.

Broadcast

In the U.S., the first ten episodes of the series aired from 23 September to 16 December 2009. The twelfth episode was shown on December 30, 2009 as the series finale. On 18 June 2010, ABC announced that the two unausgestrahlten episodes to be broadcast on 10 July 2010 as the two-hour event, this decision changed on 2 July 2010 but again, beaming instead repetitions of the summer series Scoundrels and The Gates of. Its world premiere had the eleventh and the thirteenth episode on the British channel Hallmark on 19 January and 24 February 2010.

Internationally

On 10 September 2010, the Italian digital channels LA 5 began airing the series.

At TV.com, the series has a rating of 8.0 / 10 based on 854 votes cast in the series IMDb.com has a rating of 7.8 / 10 based on 1043 votes cast. Tiffany Connors of the New York Post gave Eastwick "A" the top grade, she had assigned for the new fall series.
