Echo is a small town ( with a status of "City" ) in Yellow Medicine County in the southwest of the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, Echo had 278 inhabitants.

Geography

Echo is located at 44 ° 37'01 " north latitude and 95 ° 25'03 " west longitude and extending over 2.62 km ².

History

After the land was settled around the present site of Echo Indians of the Dakota, the first white settlers arrived in the 1870s in the area.

In 1874, the still-existing Echo Township was founded, to the present-day local area then still belonged. 1892 approved the Countyverwaltung the application establishing an independent municipality and echo was removed as Village of Echo from the same Township.
