Ecologist Party of Moldova "Green Alliance"

The Partidul Ecologist " Alianta Verde " din Moldova (abbr. PEMAVE; German Ecological Party " Green Alliance " Moldova ) is a green party in Moldova.

PEMAVE was founded in 1992 and is one of the oldest existing parties of the Republic of Moldova, which gained its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Its roots go back to the ecological movement, which - had formed in the last years of the socialist regime in the Moldavian SSR - like in other countries and regions of the former Warsaw Pact. This occurred not only against the destruction of the environment, but also against the totalitarian regime.

Although the party parliamentary virtually did not matter, they could participate in the first decade of independent Moldova actively in the environmental policy of the country. So ran from 1990 to 1994 and from 1998 to 2000, a representative of the party's national environmental authority.

In the parliamentary elections of 1994 PEMAVE got just over 7,000 votes ( 0.4%). In the 1998 elections, she appeared as part of the electoral alliance Blocul electoral " Convenţia Demócrata din Moldova ", which reached 19.4 % of the vote and 26 seats. In the next three elections in 2001, 2005 and in April 2009 the party to no longer occurred. At the early elections in July 2009, she will participate as one of eight parties. At the local level, the party hardly plays a role. In the local elections in 2007 she was awarded in the capital Chisinau 0.7 % of the vote.

In foreign policy, the party is committed to EU accession of Moldova and is geared to the countries of the Western Balkans.

Chairman of the PEMAVE is Vladimir Braga. The party is a member of the European Green Party.
