Geography
Edersheim is located on the southern edge of the Nordlinger Ries and is part of the planning region of Augsburg.
There are the following districts: Christian Garden, Edersheim, Hürnheim.
History
Edersheim was first mentioned in the 8th century in connection with donations Frankish kings to the monastery of Fulda. The Lords of Hürnheim had held the right of patronage in Edersheim before 1273. The subsequent rule of the Counts of Oettingen was since 1751 Office of the Landcommanderij Ellingen ( Bailiwick francs) of the Teutonic Order.
