Edler

Edler, derived from noble lord or noble Lord, was a title of nobility, which in the case of ennoblement was requested. It was awarded mainly in Bavaria and Austria until 1918.

The word of honor Edler was added together with the noble character of between the first and last names of ennobled (eg " Edler von Emperger " for Friedrich Ignaz Emperger ), or together with a territorial predicate append (an actual or fictitious place name ) on the family name (eg " Edler von Stein sites " for Joseph Steiner).

A gentleman was under the knight and baron, but formally the untitulierten of nobility. In Austria, the distinction between people with easy and the salutation of Noble of the 19th century had become so blurred that the word of honor Edler could be awarded an additional tax each Neugeadelten. The rank character was a circlet with five beads. As a salutation was " Your Excellency " used.

The bearer of the name Gans Noble Lord to Putlitzstrasse do not belong in this list because this generation until the middle of the 13th century as the only Prignitzer family belonged to the barony and was equated princely and ducal stands in contracts and decisions.
