Eggstätt

Eggstätt is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim and is located northwest of Lake Chiemsee at Hartsee. In the municipal area of the resort of numerous lakes, which together with other lakes within the Eggstätter Lakeland, a nature reserve, also Eggstätt Hemhofer lake are called. Originated the Lake District is in the last ice age by the former Chiemsee and Inngletscher.

Geography

Geographical Location

Eggstätt is located in the Chiemgau and is surrounded by numerous lakes, including Lake Chiemsee. The village is located about 8 km east of Endorf, 10 km north of Prien am Chiemsee, 23 km north-east of Rosenheim, 28 km south-east of Wasserburg am Inn, 20 km southwest of consolation mountain and 25 km north- west of Traunstein. The nearest train station is located in Bad Endorf, from where there are regular bus services to Eggstätt.

History

Presumably, the town grew in vorbajuwarischer time. The first mention was by 925 AD as " Echistat ". Eggstätt has long been the seat of an office and was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community. It was in 1862 the newly formed county of Traunstein allocated. Since 1 January 1900, the municipality belongs to the district of Rosenheim, now the district of Rosenheim. In 1978 the municipality Eggstätt was a member of the administrative community Breitbrunn am Chiemsee, which they left again in 1986.

Coat of arms

Eggstätt remained until 1968 without municipal coat of arms. 1969 requested the municipality running a municipality coat of arms in the form of a green shield with four transverse silver waves.

The old marker Dipl. -Ing. John Freutsmiedl discovered in the 80s, the coat of arms of the Uradelsgeschlechts Eggstätter in the tree Burgkloster in Altenmarkt ad Alz, so that a short time after this was applied as a new coat of arms and also approved. The official description reads: Mesh two peaks (rafters ) to the front Obereck swept in the rear Obereck a golden star. When displaying a large ornamental: Two horns and scroll-work. Colors: Actual box color is black ( for today's coat of arms in blue), rafters silver and gold star.
