Egyptian General Intelligence Service
The General Intelligence Service ( GIS) (Arabic جهاز المخابرات العامة, DMG Ǧihāz al - al - ʿ Muhabarat AMMA ), also Mucha Barat (Arabic المخابرات, DMG al - Muhabarat ) called or Mukhabarat, is one of three Egyptian intelligence services. The Authority is primarily responsible for combating terrorism.
The other two are the military intelligence service Idarat al - Mucha Barat al - Harbiyya wa-l - ʿ Istitla (Arabic ادارة المخابرات الحربية والاستطلاع ) and the Intelligence Service of State Security Gihaz Mabahith amn ad - Dawla (Arabic جهاز مباحث أمن الدولة ).
The news service, founded in 1954 by Gamal Abdel Nasser.
