Eidsvoll 1814s

The Eidsvoll 1814s (also known as the Eidsvoll 1814 's) are an American football team from the town of Eidsvoll in Norway and play in the top domestic league, the NoAFF. The name Eidsvoll 1814s refers to the fact that in 1814 proclaimed the first Norwegian Constitution in Eidsvoll and Norway was declared by this act for an independent state.

History

The Eidsvoll 1814s were founded in 1995 and initially started in the second league. 1997, fought the 1814s as a second division to the semifinals of the Norwegian Cup before and were subject only there the first division club Vålerenga Trolls from Oslo.

Since the year 1998, the Eidsvoll 1814s play in the first division and won in 2001 for the first time the final of the Norwegian championship and since 2004 series champion, next time they are four times runner-up.

At the European level they were in 2006 for the first time in the final of the EFAF Cup, but lost in the final in Graz / Austria against Turek Graz Giants at 37:20. Reached in 2007, the team's Euro Bowl semi-final, but subject to the Vienna Vikings at home with 16:63. In 2008, they had to give the Finnish representative Seinäjoki Crocodiles beaten with 16:22 in the quarter- finals.

With two senior teams and three junior teams, the Eidsvoll 1814s are the greatest football club in Norway.
