Entry to paradise is a six -part television series of television of the GDR from the year 1985.

Action

In a newly built prefab in Berlin- Marzahn attract a new tenant. Even the balconies of the apartments are not separated from each other and so the new neighbors rapidly approaching. It told the stories of five families in the first six days after the move. One days is told in each episode.

Background

Entry to paradise was meant as a representative series about the housing program in the GDR and planned to mark the 34th birthday (1983 ) of the GDR. Was literary basis for the project of the same name book by Hans Weber. The writer treats in his novel is not primarily the GDR housing program, but represents the development of people (here 5 families) represents this. Among good, until then not experienced, housing

As for the 7 parts á 90 min only a short production period ( April 1983 - September 1983) was available and the announced broadcast date should be kept in each case, two complete production teams or torsion bars were entrusted with the realization of the ambitious literary substance in parallel. As directors, the brothers Achim and Wolfgang Hübner acted - on their side, the camera men Bobek and Kurt Werner Helbig.

Both torsion bars set - a production- technical feature - not as usual, self-contained parts here, but pursued the dramatic development of 2 or 3 families, and then linked the results of their work to 6 parts. The filming took place in Berlin- Marzahn in a newly built high-rise building in specially prepared 2 levels instead. It was shot in parallel.

The ensemble cast was occupied with nationally and internationally renowned actors of the DDR. The too many problems and taboos in the GDR were for media officer in the series, however, addressed, so that the series was initially not broadcast.

After changing some parts of the plot, after a protest by members of artistic associations ( Writers' Association, Association of Film and Television Workers ), forced through conversations of directors with media officer, in the Erich Honecker was involved, the parts were two years later on TV the GDR completely aired in 1987. The artistic representatives of the two production teams received the 1988 Critics' Prize.

Even West German television ARD sent in the summer of 1989, before the Wall came down, the series in prime time.
