Polar Bear, Monkey & Co. is a zoo docu-soap SWR that followed the series Panda, Gorilla & Co. in the ARD Original. In the series Tales from the Wilhelma be told, the focus is on the animals and their keepers.
Produced the series of the av independents Film & TV GmbH. The editorial is Friederike Barth of SWR.
Instead of the originally planned 39 episodes the first season consisted of 54 episodes. An average of 1.9 million viewers watched this at the first showing in the ARD.
From September 2007 to February 2008, the episodes of the second season were filmed in the Wilhelma. The consequences of the second season were broadcast on 4 March 2008 to 2 May 2008. From 20 March 2009 until 22 May 2009, the broadcast of the third season with another 40 episodes. Since 10 November 2010, the fourth season will air.
