EV train (1967-2010)

The stadium Hertistrasse, also called Hertistrasse stadium or Hertistrasse ice rink was built in 1967 and stood in the same train Hertistrasse quarters. At that time it had a capacity of about 8,200 seats.

In the 1960s, the ice rink was rebuilt; the standing one side straight and parts it was decided to rebuild in seats behind the goals. This meant that only 6,780 seats remained of the once 8,200 seats in the hall. Of the 6,780 seats were henceforth 2'858 3'922 seats and standing room.

The ice rink Hertistrasse served the Hockey Team EV train as a competition venue for their home games. The EV train celebrated since the revival in 1987, twice the runner-up title in 1998 and winning the championship of the National League A in the ice rink Hertistrasse. Except Hockey took place at the rink curling and figure skating.

History

The three ZKB Banker Werner Camenzind, Jost coarse and Richard Hager laid in 1957 the foundation stone for the construction of a skating rink. Five years later, the architect Karl Aklin was from the city commissioned a sports complex concept in the Herti Allmend draft, which was approved by the community. The city approved a loan of 152,000 Swiss francs. In the same year the KEB Action Committee was formed. Thanks to the approval of the Zuger people succeeded the KEB to secure a permit for Site construction " Herti ".

In March 1963 Architect handed Aklin the KEB first time an estimate of, he was about 3'825'000 Swiss Francs. On July 4, 1965, the citizens of the city train who voted in 1350 against 570 Yes No for this building and on 24 October 1966, the ice rink train AG was founded and approved all the articles of incorporation.

In the 1970s, the desire for a hall roof was great. Beginning in 1974 were planning orders are placed and on July 16, 1975 followed the decision for the project Zuger carpenters. In April 1976, started with the hall roof, so that the hall could be provided to the ECC in time for the start of the season 1976/77 are available.

On 10 May 2010 the stadium was torn down and had to make way for the new building of the Bossard Arena, which is the EV train since the season 2010/ 11, the new venue. The Bossard Arena can accommodate 7'015 spectators ( 4'280 2'735 seats and standing).
