Eisinga Planetarium

The Eisinga Planetarium is the oldest functional model of the solar system. It was from 1774 to 1781 by Eise Eisinga in Franeker built after 1774 a stampede in the Netherlands had broken out that by taking place in this year's Top ranking of the planet, there would be cosmic collisions and ice Eisinga wanted to dispel these concerns. The model is located on the ceiling of a room and is controlled by a pendulum clock and driven by additional weight trains. The planets move in real time on long threads that hang from the ceiling.
