Ekaterina Iourieva

Ekaterina Valerevna Jurjewa (Russian Екатерина Валерьевна Юрьева; born June 11, 1983 in Tchaikovsky, Perm region, former Soviet Union) is a former Russian biathlete.

In the season 2004/2005 Ekaterina Jurjewa debuted in the Biathlon World Cup, where they participated in five races and a best finish achieved 18th place in the persecution in Pokljuka. Only two years later, in the 2006/2007 season, it was used again in the World Cup, because the Russian team was decimated due to injuries, doping barriers and pregnancies. They took the chance and could run in the top. Her best result was a victory in the individual in Pokljuka 2007. During the 2007 /2008 season she came in Hochfilzen in the sprint, pursuit and relay ( anchor leg ) to second place. On 29 December 2007 she won with her partner Dmitri Vladimirovich Yaroshenko at the World Team Challenge ( Biathlon auf Schalke ) at the Veltins - Arena. 2008 saw less successful for Jurjewa. In Oberhof she could not start due to illness, and only in the relay in Ruhpolding she was fit again.
