Elena Paparizou

Elena Paparizou (Greek: Έλενα Παπαρίζου, internationally often written Helena Paparizou ) ( born January 31, 1982 in Gothenburg, Sweden ) is a Greek- Swedish singer.

Biography

Elena Paparizou was born in Gothenburg and raised on. Her artistic talent came to light very early, they sang, danced and was acting at a young age. At 17, she and her childhood friend Nikos Panagiotidis ( Νίκος Παναγιωτίδης ) the band Antique. A short time later, Antique was taken at the Swedish record label Bonnier under contract.

The debut single Opa Opa ( cover version of a hit from Greece) was a big hit, reaching number one in the singles charts and received gold status. After this success, the debut album was released. Moreover Antique participated for Greece in the euro vision song contest 2001. With the title ( I Would ) Die for You Antique reached the 3rd place. There were other platinum albums, a European tour and cooperation with many well-known artists from Greece and elsewhere.

Despite the great success to Paparizou decided in 2003 to pursue her musical career on alone. She signed a contract with SonyBMG and in December 2003 her first solo single was released Anapantites Klisis. The title, the text of which was written especially for her by Christos Dantis, became a big hit, reaching gold status.

In the winter of 2003/2004 she performed together with the Greek singer Antonis Remos. Her first solo album Protereotita came in spring 2004 on the market. In the summer, Elena went on another tour through Greece, during the winter (November 2010 to Easter 2011) she appeared alongside Antonis Remos at the nightclub Diogenis studio.

In February / March 2011, after appearances at MadWalk and X-Factor, they released their new single Baby It's Over.

In 2014 Paparizou took for the first time at the Swedish preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2014, the Melodifestivalen, with the song Survivor part.
