Eleni Theocharous
Eleni Theocharous (* June 24, 1953 in Amiantos, Limassol ) (Greek: Ελένη Θεοχάρους ) is a Cypriot politician Dimokratikos Synagermos.
Life
Theocharous studied medicine and philosophy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Thessaloniki. In 1991 she taught as a high school teacher for pediatric medicine at the Democritus University of Thrace. From 1992 to 2001, she served as a doctor at the hospital in Nicosia Makarios III. active. From 2001 to 2009 Theocharous worked as deputies in the House of Representatives for the party Dimokratikos Synagermos. Theocharous since 2009 Member of the European Parliament. In addition to her work as a physician, university teacher and politician, she published as an author several poems and short stories in various literary magazines, for which she received several awards. Theocharous is married to Louis Kariolou and has one child.

Theocharous is in the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats).
She is Deputy Chairperson of the Delegation to the Cariforum -EU Parliamentary Committee. It is a member of the Development Committee and the Delegation to the EU -Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee. Deputy it is in the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality and in the Delegation to the ACP -EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.
