Eloísa Cartonera

Eloisa Cartonera is an Argentine publisher in Buenos Aires, which is, inter alia, by the Argentine poets Fabián Casas and Washington led Cucurto.

He published primarily contemporary and avant-garde Latin American literature, but also books in German and English, mostly in small volumes. Volunteers are former Cartoneros and the unemployed. The sides of the text are worked in a cover made of cardboard, which is freely designed and colored by the workers. So each book is unique. The text pages are usually photocopied, but some publications produced on a small printing press. The aim of this project is social assistance to the people living on the street Cartoneros, which we buy the cartons. In addition to works by Fabián Casas, of the Anna Seghers Prize, and in 2007 published Cucurto among others Works of Reinaldo Arenas, Ricardo Piglia, Dani Umpi, Malaka Dewapriya from Sri Lanka and German authors such as Timo Berger, Nikola Richter, Tom Schulz and Nora Bossong.
