Elvir Rahimić

Elvir Rahimić ( born April 4, 1976 in Živinice, SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian - Herzegovinian footballer at CSKA Moscow. He played in the youth in Bosnia at FK Živinice, where he was coached by his father. Was quickly recognized his talent and he went to Visoko Bosna. After only one year, he moved to Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia. There he played for three years and then moved in 2002 to the Russian army club CSKA Moscow, where he won several Russian league and cup victories.

Elvir Rahimić plays with a lot of physical effort. In the Channel One Cup, he added in January 2007 during the game against Hapoel Tel Aviv his Chilean opponent Manuel Neira as early as the third minute a double fracture to the ankle. Throughout his career as a player, he got so far 72 yellow cards, but only one red (as of March 2008). That's why he wears the fans the name " Schelesny " (Russian for: the Iron ).

On June 2, 2007 played Elvir Rahimić the first time for his home country of Bosnia- Herzegovina. In the European Championship qualifier against Turkey ( 3-2 ) defeated Bosnia in emotional duel favorites and Rahimić was one of the main performers in this game.
