Elżbieta Bieńkowska

Elżbieta Bieńkowska? / I ( born February 4, 1964 in Katowice ) is a Polish politician and, since November 16, 2007 Minister for Regional Development in the government of Donald Tusk.

Training

In 1983 she finished the IV General educational lyceum " Stanisław Staszic " in Sosnowiec, 1988, a study of Persian philology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, 1996, a study at the National School of Public Administration ( Krajowa SzkoĹ Administracji Publicznej ) and 1998 postgraduate studies at the Warsaw School of Economics.

Career

Your first job took Bieńkowska 1996 at Katowice Voivodship Office, where she is from 1997 with the then -launched program PHARE Inred ( EU funding for Malopolska and Silesia ) and Structural Funds focused European regional policy. It advocates the decentralization of public administration. During this time she was represented by the voivode for regional contracts for the Katowice Province and the Regional Development Strategy. There she coordinated the work of a team that developed the Regional Innovation Strategy for the Province Slask and a working group for the update of the development strategy of this Province for the years 2000 to 2020. Moreover, she was coordinator of a working group of the Regional Operating Program of the Province Slask for 2007 to 2013 aufstellte. She was a member of the Committee for the monitoring of the operating program for the Province Slask. On 15 October 2007 she appointed the Provincial Administrative Director of the Silesian Centre for Entrepreneurship ( Slaski Centrum Przedsiębiorczości ). From 2002 to 2007 Bienkowska was Vice - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Upper Silesian Development Agency ( Górnośląska Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego SA).

She lectured at the Polytechnic in Silesia on EU structural programs.

Minister

After the parliamentary elections on 21 October 2007, she was sworn in on 16 November 2007 as Minister for Regional Development in the Tusk government. The candidacy had suggested the chairman of the Regional Management of the Civic Platform in Slask, Tomasz Tomczykiewicz. Your predecessor, was named Grazyna Gęsicka.

Private

She lives in Mysłowice, has three children and is married.
