Geography

Geographical location

The municipality is situated on the Soeste in Oldenburger Munsterland, immediately east of Cloppenburg. In the northeast, the municipality ends at the Lethe, the nature reserve Ahlhorner fish ponds flows in this part. The northernmost part of the municipality Emstek part of the Natural Park Geest.
