Epsilon Tauri

Ain is the name of the star Tauri ε (epsilon Tauri ) in the constellation Taurus. The name comes from Arabic عين, DMG ʿ Ain 'eye', or Latin Oculus Borealis, " eye of the bull ". Another name is Koronis (Greek Κορωνις ), one of the Hyades.

Ain belongs to the spectral class G9 and has an apparent magnitude of 3.5 mag. It is about 155 light years away. The star has a companion 11 size class at a distance of 182 arcsec, corresponding to about 8600 AU. The turn around time on this pet is estimated at about 500,000 years ago. In 2007, an extrasolar planet may observed that with a period of 1.6 years orbiting ε Tauri at a distance of about 1.8 AU.

Ain can be used as ekliptiknaher star are rarely covered by the moon and planets.
