Eric Hermelin

Eric Alex Ermine ( born June 22, 1860 in Svanshals, Sweden, † November 8, 1944 in Lund ) was a Swedish translator and author. He is famous for his translations of Persian poetry known Sufis ( Islamic mystics ).

Eric Hermelin spent the years from 1909 to his death in 1944 at St Lars Hospital in Lund, where he has translated works by Fariduddin Attar, Jalal ad-Din Rumi, Jakob Böhme, Omar Khayyam, Saadi and Hakim Sanaie.
