Eric Kim (comics)

Eric Hyoun - Cheoul Kim ( born January 11, 1977 in Bramalee, Canada ) is a Canadian comic book artist.

Training

He grew up in Toronto and showed an early inclination for drawing comics. After high school he attended the Sheridan College, where he led the program for basic art, the program for Interpretive Illustration and after completion of the program graduated in computer animation after five years.

Early work

His work for the entertainment industry began at 4 Elements Studios in Montreal, where he remained but not for long and returned home to Toronto. He began a career in Visual Effects at Mr. X FX and worked on films such as Cube 2: Hypercube and Blizzard, TV productions such as Veritas and Anonymous Rex, as well as on some storyboards.

Breakthrough in the comic business

He met J. Torres 2003 at the Toronto Comics Arts Festival with whom he the comic Love As A Foreign Language developed by Oni Press and illustrated it to completion. He also worked freelance for Dynamic Forces, Udon Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment Group, as well as in some fantasy and role playing games. He also produced a webcomic, entitled Battle Academy.
