Appointment (Walliser German: AERNE; French Aragnon ) is a Munizipalgemeinde in the district of Goms in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
Geography
The municipality is located in the Goms appointment on the left side of the upper Rhone Valley. Their territory consists of the former municipalities Ausserbinn, appointment, mill creek and stone house since the merger in the spring of 2005. History
Appointment is conveniently situated between the passes Albrun, semolina, Furka and Grimsel and benefited for centuries as a trade hub of this position. The construction of a modern road and the railway line on the other Hordes (Rhône- ) side of the valley continued to place transport links to the sidelines and led to an economic decline.
In 1974, the Hungarian pianist György Sebök began offering master classes for pianists and chamber musician in appointment in the summer. Since then called the local "Music Village". 1987 this offer was extended through the chamber music series " Festival of the Future ". More events were added: a series of baroque concerts, a writing seminar with Donna Leon, a workshop "Biographical Writing " and another, so that appointment has to offer a rich cultural program during the summer months.
