The European route E 90 is a transport route, extending from Lisbon (Portugal ) to the Turkish-Iraqi border in the east. Similar to the E 80 it crosses three time zones.

Route

The E 90 passes through several European countries and also includes following the Seas: Barcelona (Spain ) Mazara del Vallo (Italy ); Messina (Italy ) to Reggio Calabria ( Italy ); Brindisi ( Italy) to Igoumenitsa (Greece) and Canakkale (Turkey) to Canakkale (Turkey) and from there to the Turkish-Iraqi border.

Portugal

The E 90 leads a total of 216 kilometers through the center of Portugal:

  • A-2: Lisbon motorway junction A-13 and A -6 in Marateca (58 miles)
  • A-6 Motorway Junction A-13/A-6-Grenze to Spain in Caia and Badajoz ( 158 km)

Spain

The E90 performs about 998 km through Central Spain:

  • A-5: Badajoz -Madrid ( 387 km )
  • A-2: Madrid- Zaragoza (304 miles)
  • AP -2: Zaragoza -Barcelona (307 miles)

From Barcelona the E90 over the Mediterranean leads to Sicily. A direct ferry, retracing the route from Barcelona to Mazara de Vallo, there is not. To Mazara de Vallo to Barcelona or vice versa to get total following ferry routes would have to be taken advantage of:

Italy

The E 90 performs about 900 km through Italy. First, the route on the northern edge of Sicily, thence by the toe of Italy over the upper part of the paragraph. From there, the Adriatic Sea is crossed to Greece.

In Sicily, often missing the signs with the European route symbol; usually there is only the corresponding freeway sign. The European route is therefore referred to only as Autostrada or with the respective number (A29, A19, A20).

  • Autostrada 19: Palermo Buonfornello (45 miles)
  • A20: Buonfornello -Messina (175 km)
  • Ferry from Messina to Reggio di Calabria (13 miles)

  • SS -7: Taranto - Brindisi ( 69 km)

Greece

The E 90 leads 670 km through northern Greece. The route is in line with the A2 motorway, which is commonly referred to as the Egnatia Odos.

  • Igoumenitsa - Ioannina ( coincides with the E 92 101 km)
  • Ioannina Konitsa - Veria -Thessaloniki - Kavala - Alexandroupolis border with Turkey in Evros Kipoi on or İpsala ( Turkish side )
