Extensor carpi radialis brevis muscle

The extensor carpi radialis brevis (Latin for " short -side spokes Hand Tractor" or " short radial extensors hand " ) is one of the spoke (radius) located muscles of the forearm. It is overlaid by the extensor carpi radialis longus. The tendon pulls, together with the tendon of the extensor carpi radialis longus tendon sheaths through the second compartment of the extensor retinaculum and bulges at the fist the skin strong before.

At most four-footed mammals that muscle is not formed.

Function

The extensor carpi radialis brevis muscle stretches, as well as the extensor carpi radialis longus, the hand at the wrist. He also participates in the abduction ( bending of the hand toward the thumb ).
