Ezequiel Zamora

Ezequiel Zamora ( born 1 February 1817 in Cúa, Miranda; † January 10, 1860 in San Carlos, Cojedes ) was a Venezuelan Civil War general and a peasant leader of the Guerra Federal 1859-1863.

Ezequiel Zamora was a leader of the Liberals in the Venezuelan civil wars of the 19th century. Together with Simón Bolívar, Simón Rodríguez and he is considered one of the three outstanding personalities of the " Bolivarian movement." He is also referred to as " General of free people ", because on December 10, 1859, he prepared the troops of the large landowners in Santa Inés a devastating defeat, after he had been lured to this a discount for the peasant army terrain.
