Fabián O'Neill

Fabián Alberto O'Neill Domínguez ( born October 14, 1973 in Paso de los Toros ) is a former Uruguayan football player who was a member of the Uruguayan national football team.

Career

In the club

Fabián O'Neill, who is often out in the notation Fabián O'Neil, his professional career began at his hometown club Nacional Montevideo, where he spent the period from 1992 to 1995 and with his team, the 1992 Uruguayan champion was, in the highest League played. During these three years he completed 63 matches and scored fifteen goals. In 1995, he joined the Italian club Cagliari Calcio. He rose with his club from 1997 to Serie B, but rose a year later on again. After Cagliari relegated again in 2000, he moved to the top club in Serie A Juventus. After only 14 games, the clubs Juventus and AC Perugia agreed in January 2002 on an exchange. O'Neill went to AC Perugia go, but Davide Baiocco came to Juve. But at the end of the season he returned to Cagliari Calcio in Serie B, but where he played a single game more. In 2003, he wanted to end his career at his old club Nacional Montevideo and still graduated five games. After he finished his career as a professional footballer, he played and coached only at some amateur clubs in Uruguay.

In the National Team

O'Neill took the junior selection of Uruguay at the Junior World Cup in 1993 partly in Australia and reached the quarter-finals of the team. He also denied a total of 19 A- international matches in which he scored two goals. His first international game, he completed on 16 June 1993 in the group stage at the Copa America against the United States that could win 1-0. His last international game he played on 16 May 2002 against China in Shenyang. He was part of the Uruguayan contingent of the 2002 World Cup, but came to no use.
