Faial is located at the foot of the 590 m high, the sea steep Penha de Águia (German eagle rock ).

In Faial there is a school, a church and a karting track.

On the southern boundary of the municipality of Pico Ruivo, the highest mountain located in Madeira.

Management

Faial is the seat of an eponymous municipality ( Freguesia ). The neighboring communities are Santana in the West, Ilha the northwest, São Roque do Faial in the South, and Porto da Cruz in the east.
