Fairchild C-82 Packet

The Fairchild C-82 Packet was a twin-engined transport plane that was used by the United States Army Air Forces after the Second World War. It was developed by Fairchild and first flew in 1944 Only 223 units were built in total. ; most were used for troop and material transport, some were used for skydivers as well as inserts towing equipment for gliders.

In this type of aircraft is the predecessor of the C -119 Flying Boxcar. Some C -82 transport aircraft were used during the Berlin Airlift in 1948-1949.

The C-82 was used in the movie Flight of the Phoenix 1965.
