FC Elista

The FK Elista (Russian ФК Элиста, scientific transliteration FK Elista ) is a retired Russian football club from the city of Elista. The club was represented in the 1990s in the meantime in the Premjer League.

History

FK Elista

The football club Elista was founded in 2005 after the dissolution of its predecessor club, FC Uralan Elista. In the southern zone of the Amateur League Elista was in his first season runner-up and by the enlargement of the southern zone of the 2nd Division in on just those. In 2006, the FK Elista pulled his team back after 19 match days from the official game mode.

FK Uralan Elista

The football club Uralan Elista was founded in 1958. Until 1965 the club won all the trophies and championships of Kalmykia region. In 1966 Uralan was divided into second-class B league of the Soviet league system. At this level, the club played continuously until 1991, with the club in 1991 with a second place achieved the best result.

Since 1992 until the rise in 1997 Uralan Elista played in the 1st Division. In the 1998 season the team seventh in the league was Premjer. Uralan 2000 rose from the last one, however, could make its chances of promotion perfect. After two more years at the highest level from the Russian football team was relegated again in 2003.

During the 2004 season the club got huge financial problems and could not pay the players' wages for more than six months, which meant that most of the players left the club.

Uralan was demoted to the second division, but because the club refused to play in this, a new association of FK Elista was founded.
