FC Gloria Buzău

Gloria Buzău is a Romanian football club from Buzău. He plays since 2013 in the second- highest Romanian league, the League II

History

Gloria Buzău was founded on 16 June 1971 as football department of CSM Buzău. The team took over the majority of the players and the place of Metalul Buzău in the third highest Romanian league, the Divizia C. In his first season managed Gloria promotion to the Divizia B.

After several unsuccessful attempts to take the plunge into the highest Romanian football league that create Divizia A, this was achieved as a first team of Buzău in 1978. According to the league in the season 1978/79 Gloria rose in 1980 again in the Divizia B. In 1984 succeeded, the renewed rise. The 1984/85 season was the most successful in the club's history. In addition to the 5th place in the Divizia A Gloria also reached the semi-finals of the Balkans Cup for club teams, left there but against Panionios Athens. After relegation in the following season Gloria rose at the end of the 1986/87 season from again.

After Gloria had slipped from 2000 to 2002 even in the Divizia C, 2007 managed to return to the League 1 In the first year after the rise of the semi-finals of the Cupa României was achieved in 2007 / 08 and the immediate re descent are narrowly avoided. The 2008/09 season the club finished as Table and was punished because of the failure to achieve the minimum score with a penalty of eight points for the following season. Since then, Gloria plays in the Liga II and has to contend with strong financial difficulties. In 2010, the descent into the Divizia C be prevented only because of the unavoidable descent of FCM Bacau. In the summer of 2010, the then coach Nicolae Anton gave his office to Mihai Ciobanu and returned to the youth sector of the society.
