FC Midtjylland Håndbold (abbreviated: FCM Håndbold ) is a Danish women's handball team from Ikast, which plays in the Danish GuldBageren - Ligaen.

History

On June 20, 1970 merged the three associations Ikaster Ikast FS Håndboldafdeling, Ikast DUI and Ikast Skytte gymnastics Forening. The new club was called Ikast - bording Elite Håndbold.

After years in rather lower leagues in 1991 the entry into the professional handball Business: Ikast rose to the Danish basic series and won - even as second division - the Danish Cup. Soon, the team was in the top group of the League: 1994 to third in the championship for the first time, in the following year joined the team prior to the semifinals of the City Cup. 1998 saw the culmination of the club's history: Ikast won the Danish Championship, the European City Cup and the Club Championship.

There have since followed three second and two third places in the championship; nevertheless Ikast was nationally increasingly overtaken by other clubs such as Slagelse DT and Viborg HK. These clubs promoted from Ikast players like Henriette Mikkelsen; previously succeeded the club but to keep his Topstar Gro hammer Seng Edin. International, however, put the team with victories in the EHF Cup in 2002 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2004 but continued exclamation mark. 2007 was the team again in the EHF Cup final.

2008, the club changed its name in Ikast - Brande Elite Håndbold. In November 2008, merged Ikast - Brande Elite Håndbold with FC Midtjylland. Since then, the women's team takes as FC Midtjylland Håndbold. In 2011, the FCM won the EHF Cup and the Danish Championship.
