Serbia turned out to be big disappointment out and lost all his games but without even clear to lose, the team stepped up as the youngest team in the Championship, even NBA star Milicic was just 22 years old, this afforded in the last game a great outburst and insulted the referee.

Group B - Sevilla

Croatia played up and down in the first days of the tournament, the team in the first game little of their true class showed and lost to Latvia at 77:85. In the second match they were significantly improved, and beat Portugal, the outsider of the group with 90:68. In the last game we had against the reigning world champions Spain already with 40:50 back and already looking like the loser, but the Croats showed an incredible performance, leaving the Spaniard superstar Gasol no longer come into play and won with 85:84.

Spain already in the first game did a great job and won with 82:56 against Portugal. In the second game they beat Latvia with 93:77 also because Pau Gasol contributed 26 points at the moment. Portugal was the underdogs of the group, they lost against world champions Spain as high as expected with 56:82. In the second match against Croatia, they played on despondent, afraid to be little to lose and much to 68:90. Only in the third game showed the Portuguese that they had collected a pretty good team: In the game against Latvia, they won clearly with 77:67 points, which was not expected from the previous tournament.

Latvia beat in the first game the favorite Croatian selection with 85:77. In the second match against Spain, the team conceded defeat with the expected 77:93. You did not expect that Latvia was eliminated, but they lost to Portugal. Thus, another pretty good team adopted earlier than expected.

Group C - Palma de Mallorca

Lithuania, the Seventh World Championship of the previous year, was next to Spain and Greece as the big favorite of this tournament and showed this in the first game against the highly con creatures from Turkey impressive than they with 85:69 aufzeigten the Turks their limits. Turkey not at all convinced in the first days of the tournament and lost the first two games clear against Lithuania and Germany. Only in the last game, the class of the team flashed in part, as they defeated the Czech Republic 80:72.

The Czechs showed a spirited performance against Germany and missed nearly the great sensation when you had to admit defeat after extra time. In the second game, however, the team had no chance against Lithuania and lost significantly with 75:95. In the last game the team lost pretty nearly with 72:80 and that was eliminated as expected, but the team had not disappointed.

In the first game, the Slovenes Italy struck with 69:68. In the second game they let outsiders Poland no chance and won 70:52. Against France Slovenia could also win with 67:66, so that Slovenia had mastered the most difficult group of the tournament.

France could not convince correctly, they beat Poland, although with 74:66, but did you look at for a long time very hard despite stars like Turiaf and Tony Parker. Against Italy, they showed a stronger performance, but won the French just barely, thanks to 36 points with 69:62 Parker. Against Slovenia, the French lost then with 66:67.

Italy was followed by the great misfortune, we led in the first game just before the end 68:66 and still conceded a threesome and lost. In the second game we slept through the third quarter and also lost, so you had to win the last game against Poland; only here the Italians played with the young NBA players Belinelli and Bargnani much more experienced and won with 79:70 and prevented an early exit.
