The Finnish Aviation Museum (Finnish: Suomen Ilmailumuseo ) shows the development of aviation in Finland. The museum is located near the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in Vantaa.

History

The museum opened its first exhibition in 1972 at the airport Helsinki-Vantaa. Since 1981, the museum is located at the present site. The museum is since 1996 owned by the Suomen Ilmailumuseosäätiö ( Foundation Finnish Aviation Museum ), which is also the operator.

Exhibits

The following aircraft and engines are just a selection of the exhibition of 7,000 objects. Many of the exhibits are still waiting in camps for their restoration.
