Fischbach-Oberraden

Fischbach- Oberraden is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality New Castle. Fischbach- Oberraden is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

Fischbach is located in the South Eifel nature in the densely wooded Radenbachtal. Worth mentioning is the current flowing through the town Radenbach, a tributary of the River Enz in which you can fish wild trout. More water is the Radenbach - tributary Eierseif.

Fischbach is characterized by a very natural landscape, its partly marshy meadows, and a network of forestry used ways in which it can be perfect for walking.

The municipality consists of the villages Fischbach with the living space in the Kleiwersdell and Oberraden with the village of Hausen block.

Neighboring municipalities are Berkoth, Weidingen, Utscheid, Niederraden, New Castle and chafing.

History

The place Fischbach was first mentioned in 1332 as " Vixbach ", but is believed to have originated in the 9th century. The larger town Oberraden contrast, emerged only in 1501 as " Overaden " in the documents on.

Both places belonged to the late 18th century the Duchy of Luxembourg, Fischbach to rule New Castle, Upper Raden to county of Vianden.

After 1792 French Revolutionary troops had the Austrian Netherlands, which included the Duchy of Luxembourg, occupied and annexed in October 1795. From 1795 to 1814 both places belonged to Canton New Castle in the department of forests. Both Fischbach and Oberraden each have their own chapel: The Fischbacher chapel stands on a promontory overlooking the valley. The upper Radener Donatus chapel was destroyed in the Second World War and then rebuilt. In Fischbach, there is a youth and leisure center.
