After the bankruptcy of the RSC Bremerhaven 1984, the 1983 precaution was founded REV Bremerhaven successor club RSC and took off in 1984/85 in the regional part of the game operation.

From the second division, however, Bremerhaven was relegated in 1998 in the first season again in the third class 1 Hockey League. There succeeded the REV 1999, when the first preliminary round Group North against the Südstaffelsieger SC Bietigheim- Bissingen, in the return game, to secure the immediate promotion back to the "old" 1st League North. This was. Introduced last year by the second Hockey League, now the third-tier ice hockey league In 2000, the REV Bremerhaven reached by the second rise in a row, the newly established second-rate second Hockey League.

In the summer of 2001, the first team in the REV Bremerhaven conveyor mbH was outsourced.

In the 2001 /02 season, the team reached the championship title of the 2nd Hockey League and could make an application for licensing of the DEL 2002/ 03. However, it has waived the application sometimes for financial reasons and because of the state of the current venue. Then the runner- ERC Ingolstadt could submit his application and ascend in the DEL.

Took place in the summer of 2002 with the approval of ESBG the transfer of the crew of the mining company in the Fish Town Penguin Bremerhaven SBG mbH. For the mining company then the bankruptcy order was placed.

In the season 2002/ 03 is increased as last year's champion surprising in the Oberliga from after they had lost to the ETC Crimmitschau in the play -down series 1:3. Although we still had hopes of being preserved by the financial calamities of other clubs, as substitutes of the 2nd Bundesliga, but had to join the in the league.

The team managed under coach Peter Draisaitl in the season 2003/ 04 the immediate promotion back to the second Hockey League. After the preliminary round as 1 and the Masters round was completed as a second, they lost in the play- offs no longer a game and secured the championship title.

The 2004/2005 season was completed as a climber with a 5th place. ( 5:4 n P. 2:3, 5:3, 4:3, 0:5, 4:3, 1:4) defeated in the play-off quarter-finals were the Schwenningen Wild Wings in seven games. In the semifinals, was the first preliminary round, the Straubing Tigers, opponents of the REV. They lost the series with 1:3 ( 2:4, 5:3, 3:4 aet, 2:4 ).

The 2005/2006 season was completed under new coach Igor Pavlov the preliminary round with the 1st place. In the play-off quarter-finals the team EHC Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg defeated in five games. In the semifinals, was the preliminary round Seventh, Dresdner Eislöwen, opponents of the REV. Dresden was sovereign in the series 3:0 ( 9:1, 3:2, 5:4 n P.) beaten, and you moved to again in 2002 to the final of the 2nd Bundesliga against Straubing Tigers. In the final, they lost the first two games, and the series seemed gone. The REV but won the next two games, and so it came on 17 April to a playoff in Bremerhaven. Bremerhaven lost with 1:2 and thus the series with 2:3 ( 1:3, 2:5, 2:1, 2:1, 1:2 ). The sporty rise in the German Ice Hockey League ( DEL) was thus missed.

The 2006/2007 season already offered in the first half two " sensations " from the perspective of penguins. As part of the German Ice Hockey Cup DEL teams from Dusseldorf (holders ) were cast out with 9:2 and from Frankfurt Lions 2-1 at the ice rink at the Wilhelm- Kaisen Square from the ongoing competition for a first round victory at the Hannover Indians. In December 2006, coach Igor Pavlov extended its activity to the band at the Fish Town Penguin for a further year ( 2007/ 2008). On 16 January 2007 ended the dream of a possible DEB Cup final: 1:5 they lost on home ice the Eagles from Mannheim, the first time managed to become the eventual Cup champion and German champion the Double in the German Ice Hockey. For the Penguins, the season ended with the 3rd place and consequently the home advantage in the first round of the play -offs. However, this quickly ended. In the sixth game of the series best -of-seven against the EHC Munich put it in Munich's Olympic Ice Stadium, a 0-1 defeat that was sealed 62 seconds before the end of normal time by the Munich Gordon Borberg and thus the From the quarter-finals meant.

In the beginning on 14 September 2007 Main Round of the 2007/ 08 season, the club announced as a goal in the early relegation. Unfortunately, the season was then, however, quite different. The Fish Town penguin moved almost exclusively in the basement table and occupied at the end of 12th place you therefore had against the Lusatian foxes in the playdowns. While the foxes were already for the third time in a row in the playdowns, it was rather shocking for the last years of success spoiled fans of the Fish Town penguin. The round was extremely close: After six games, it was a draw 3:3 ( 5:0, 2:3, 6:3, 3:2 aet, 1:2, 2:3 n P.), so that the last game had to decide in the local ice rink Bremerhaven about everything. Both teams played selflessly, at the end of Bremerhaven was 6-4 ( the last goal was an " empty net goal" ) decide the series for himself and remained so sporty in the 2nd Bundesliga. The fox was later due to the insolvency of polar bears Regensburg and the mosquitoes eating again the descent into the league saves.

In the 2008 /09 season since 1999 playing for Bremerhaven Craig scattering took over as coach at the Fish Town penguin. The season also began initially very positive, as the penguin could win the SWB Energy Cup in the final against the Iserlohn Roosters in the preseason in their own hall. Thereafter, however, the 2007/08 season seemed to repeat. Although the penguin won at least 15 ( 2 OT) 24 home games ( the 2nd BL was due to the many failures from the previous season only from 13 Clubs), at the same time but you also lost 18 of 24 away games, which then end up to 10th place handed. Since the Tolz Lions were excluded despite 2nd place after the main round due to the insolvency of the playoffs early, moved all clubs on a place, so that finally Bremerhaven was number 9. The pre- playoff against the SERC Wild Wings they won in two straight games, but the quarter- final against EHC München ended then after four games with 0:4.

The 2009/10 season began on September 11, 2009. Contrary to many expectations had the fish Town penguin in the relegation round. There, however, they were able to prevail against the EHC Freiburg and keep sporting the class already in the first round with 4-1 victories.

For the season 2010/11 continued to be the target of premature relegation. Contrary to previous years, a large part of the team was retained by the club and the squad has been supplemented by players (except for the young players ) are all already had experience in the 2nd Hockey League. The Fish Town penguin completed the main round than 3, then had to be in the playoff quarterfinals but after 5 games the Dresdner Eislöwen beaten.

Between the Fish Town Penguin Bremerhaven SBG mbH and the Hannover Scorpions regulated for years, a cooperation agreement to exchange players with exploration permits between the two clubs. The cooperation agreement ended after the 2009/10 season. The cooperation has already begun in the 2009/2010 season with the Cologne Sharks still existed until the season 2010/11. Since the season 2011/12, there is no cooperation between the DEL and the ESBG. As a result, there is no exploration permits between the two leagues. Since the Fish Town penguin, however, had already planned for this season from the outset without production license player, there was therefore no problems in the squad lineup.

The new 2011/12 season began outstanding on September 23, 2011 for the team with the championship lead after five rounds. At half-time the main round was 45 points, a good second place in the table to beech ( 15 S, 9 N). The second half of the season was disappointing with 11 wins and 15 defeats. During this time there was also a long series, each with 10 games without a win, the 23 December, 2011 - January 22, 2012 and lasted 5 February 2012 to March 4, 2012. The main round ended the team's starting with 69 points ( 24 S, 24 N) as a table in ninth and thus missed the playoffs just one point. The new game mode Bremerhaven had in the relegation round with the four last placed the main round. The negative trend in the second half of the series continued in the relegation round. Consequently, Bremerhaven was an 8 game days duration twin round surprising as Table the relegation round firm and sporty rose from from the 2nd Hockey League.

For a long time there was uncertainty in which league the club would compete in the new season 2012/13. As a sports relegated the team was long in waiting, if last year's sporting champions ascend the Landshut Cannibals or Tolz Lions would perceive as league champions their rise law. Because both clubs finally remained in their leagues and the second hockey league as a target spending to play in the near future with 14 clubs, remained the penguin in the league. At the end of last season had to take his hat and make room for Mike Stewart trainer suffering Borg. Only when the leagues membership, it was clear the penguin could make intensively on the squad compilation.

The season 2012/13 went to the end of the first half of the season excellent for fish penguin Town, after 24 games, the team with 17 wins and only seven losses stood at the head of the 2nd Hockey League. Until then, they presented with 94 gates and the best attack in the league. In the course of the season the team for a long time held in third place before graduating conditioned by a Schwächphase the main round in fifth place. The penguin had in the main round with the best average attendance of all clubs with 3,009 spectators. In the first play-off, it came to a duel with the Tower Stars from Ravensburg. The first game went with 1:8 lost, the following duels, each with one goal difference. With a 0:3 residue in the play-off series, managed to win the next three duels Bremerhaven, the sixth game in the series was won 8-1 in the domestic arena. The last, seventh playoff went with 1:2 lost in Ravensburg and sealed the corner.
