Flag of Asturias
The flag of Asturias was established on 19 December 1991 with the Law 4 /1990.
Description and significance
The flag of Asturias is a blue flag whose color stands for the Virgin Mary. In the leech rests a Latin trefoil cross, hanging on the bar, the Greek letters Alpha and Omega as a sign of the beginning and end. The so-called cross of victory is an old Asturian icon. Meanwhile jeweled original is in the Cathedral of Oviedo, capital of Asturias.
The center of the cross is one-third the length from the flag pole and flag from the bottom edge. The cross has a height of 4/9 of the flag length.
Variants
As table flag and a flag for indoor use with centered cross. There is one version for ceremonial purposes, in which the cross is decorated with jewels.

History
The identical with former province of Asturias Oviedo led her coat of arms on a light blue flag.
Today's flag is described in the Law 4/1990 of 19 December 1991. The cross was already defined as part of the coat of arms with the Law 2/1984 of 27 April 1984.
