Allande
Allande is a comune ( concejo in Asturias, corresponds to the municipio in the rest of Spain) in the autonomous region of Asturias.
The main town is Pola de Allande ( Asturian La Puela ). The highest elevation is 1,416 meters with Pachón PICU.
The coat of arms
The Asturian Victory Cross, surrounded by a band that is lined with eight ousted crescents.
- The Victory Cross is the coat of arms of Asturias.
- The crescent represents Islam, the ousted crescents as a symbol for victory, they recall the Battle of Salado on 30 October 1340.
- Above it all sits the open royal crown.
Climate
Pleasantly mild summers with mild also, rarely severe winters. In the highlands of the winters can be quite severe.
