Libellula saturata is disseminated in the United States and Mexico Dragonfly species of the subfamily Libellulinae.

Construction of Imago

The animal reaches a length of 52-60 mm, of which the abdomen constitutes 32 to 40 mm.

The coloration of the species is dominated by a red - orange hue. Here, the face of young animals is initially light brown but is bright red with age. The thorax and abdomen are brick red and white. In females, however, these are breathed more brown.

The red is also reflected in the wings, which reach a length of 41 mm to 45 mm and are traversed by red veins. On the rear wings is also still a dark brown stripe to find. Furthermore, extending from the base to the pterostigma an amber shade on the wings and the legs are reddish.

Construction of the larva

The larva reaches a size of 28 mm, has a rounded abdomen and is hairy.
