Fontanile

Fontanile is a municipality with 577 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Asti (AT ), Region Piedmont.

Geography

The municipality covers an area of ​​8 km ². The neighboring municipalities are Alice Bel Colle (AL), Castel Boglione, Castel Rocchero, Castelletto Molina, Mombaruzzo, Nizza Monferrato and Quaranti.

Specialty

In Fontanile vines for the Dolcetto d' Asti, a red wine are grown with DOC status. The berries of the grape varieties Pinot Noir and / or Chardonnay may be processed for sparkling wine Alta Langa. The Muscat grape for the Asti Spumante, a sweet DOCG sparkling wine with a low alcohol content and for still wine Moscato d' Asti is also grown here.
