Fontenoy-la-Joûte
Fontenoy- la- Joûte is a commune with 281 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region. In this small village there are fifteen bookstores.

Geography
The community Fontenoy- la- Joûte between Luneville and Saint- Dié, six kilometers west of Baccarat on the border of the Vosges. In the south of Fontenoy -la- Joûte is the route Departmental D22 and the Grand Bois de Glonville ( Forest of Glonville ).
History
Fontenoy- la- Joûte was mentioned in 1120 in a document for the first time.
The idea of turning the church into a " book town ", comes from the Dominican Father Serge Bonnet, the former French agriculture minister François Guillaume and the teacher Daniel Mengotti. Inaugurated the " Book Village " on 28 April 1996.

Culture and sights
In 1997, the then mayor of Fontenoy -la- Joûte Marianne d'Or (Golden Marianne ), a prize that is awarded annually to several " excellent " communities and was launched in 1984 by Edgar Faure and Alain Trampogliéri.
The community organized several times a year readings and book markets. A literature competition is held once a year, which is celebrated every year to other writers. 2009 is the motto of Les Nouveaux Victor Hugo ( the new Victor Hugo ).
Structures
- The present church was built in 1864-1869 on the site of two earlier churches.
- A chapel called Saint- Pierre was mentioned in 1120 in the cartulary of the abbey of Senones. The present chapel was built in the 13th century, however. It is in the additional directory ( inventaire supplémentaire) of Monuments historiques registered (monument).
