Football in Angola

Football is the most popular sport in Angola. Many Angolan footballer playing internationally, especially in Portugal and France, however, mostly in the lower leagues.

Association

The national football association of Angola is the Federação Angolana de Futebol (FAF ). It was founded in 1979 and joined Only a year later, 1980, the world governing body FIFA and CAF in the continental federation. The FAF organizes the national football league Girabola (1st League ) and Gira Angola (2nd league) and is also responsible for the Angolan national team of men and women. World Cup 2006

The national team of Angola in 2006 could qualify for the first time a World Cup. On 4 September 2006, the African Football Federation CAF announced that the African Cup is awarded to Angola in 2010.
