Ford Iosis

Ford Iosis at the Geneva Motor Show 2006

The Ford Iosis is an imagined at the IAA 2005 concept car, the car manufacturer Ford, which will not go into production.

Vehicle characteristics

The vehicle was moved by the scene features such as four counter -hinged gullwing doors, 20 -inch tires and a very sporty exterior. The entry into the rear seats is also simplified by the absence of the B-pillar. In addition, new materials such as neoprene used in the interior and to miss "Ambient Lighting" this car a sporty and elegant feel in this study.

Chief designer is Martin Smith, who has applied the so-called " kinetic design " to make these sporty Ford. The new range of Mondeo took over elements of the Iosis. This has been available since June 2007 at the trade.

Name

The name " Iosis " according to Ford's press releases is from alchemy. There he means " redness " and describes the final process of turning simple metal into gold. The name was criticized, as Hans Eidener, Professor of Modern Greek Philology, was quoted in the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger as saying in October 2005, " iosis " is the modern Greek word for " viruses ", the naming therefore just as embarrassing as the Mitsubishi Pajero or Toyota MR2. The message was repeated in many other organs of the press. They proved to be untenable, since this word, although theoretically derived from the word " ios " ( = virus) could, in Greek, but is practically no use and no association among the Greeks to the vermeldeten of Eidener importance awakens.
