Ford Konno

Ford Hiroshi Konno ( born January 1, 1933, Honolulu ) is a retired American swimmer.

His career as a swimmer lasted from 1951 until 1956. During the Olympic Summer Games in Helsinki in 1952, he became Olympic champion in the 1500 m freestyle and the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. About 400 m freestyle, he had to admit defeat Jean Boiteux and won silver. Four years later he won at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 with the American squadron again the silver medal.

In 1972 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
