Francheleins
Francheleins is a commune with 1370 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ain , in the Rhône -Alpes; it is part of the arrondissement Bourg -en- Bresse and the District of Saint - Trivier -sur- Moignans.
Geography
The municipality is located few kilometers from the Saône, about 13 kilometers northeast of Villefranche -sur -Saône.
Neighboring communities of Francheleins are Montmerle -sur -Saône, Montceaux, Chan One, Saint- Trivier -sur- Moignans, Villeneuve, Chaleins and Lurcy.
History
Today's Francheleins arose from the merger of the places Amareins, Francheleins and Cesseins as Amareins - Francheleins - Cesseins 1974; the name Francheleins took to the community in 1998.
