François Beauchemin

François Beauchemin ( born June 4, 1980 in Sorel, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League since February 2011.

Career

The 1.83 m tall defender played for the Laval Titan Collège Français, Acadie - Bathurst Titan and the Moncton Wildcats in the Canadian Junior Football League Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before he of the 75 players in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft 1998 the Montreal Canadiens has been selected.

Until his NHL debut for the Canadiens in the 2002/03 season, he stood for both the AHL farm team Québec citadels and Hamilton Bulldogs and for the Mississippi Sea Wolves in the East Coast Hockey League on the ice. On 27 February 2003 against the Minnesota Wild Beauchemin graduated its first and at the same time last game for the Canadiens in the highest North American professional league.

In September 2004, the left gunner moved to the Columbus Blue Jackets, due to the lockout, he came first but only at the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL for use. During the season 2005/ 06, the Canadian was eventually along with Tyler Wright transferred in exchange for Sergei Fedorov to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, for which he was also in the 2006/07 season under the new name Anaheim Ducks on the ice and also in this season was the Stanley Cup win.

In the 2008 / 09 season, Beauchemin was only 20 games in the regular season for the Ducks, as he had to suspend from the game due to a knee injury almost the entire season. On July 6, 2009, he signed as a free agent contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the season 2009/10 Beauchemin graduated all 82 games in the regular season, but the Maple Leafs missed qualifying for the playoffs. In February 2011, Beauchemin returned to Anaheim because it charges the Maple Leafs in exchange for Joffrey Lupul business, Jake Gardiner and a fourth- round option for the NHL Entry Draft 2013 Californians.

In January 2012, extended the Canadians, who now formed a defender pair with Cam Fowler, his contract with the Anaheim Ducks for three years until the season end of 2014 /15 campaign. The average annual salary for the defense in this period amounts to about 3.5 million U.S. dollars.

Internationally

Beauchemin participated in the 2010 World Cup as a member of the Canadian national team. As an assistant captain he stood in seven games on the ice and recorded one assist.
