2010 IIHF World Championship

The 74th Ice Hockey World Championship for Men was held until May 23, 2010 in Germany of 7. Top Division

The World Cup of the top Division was held in the German cities of Cologne and Mannheim from 7 to 23 May 2010. It was played in the Lanxess Arena ( 18,500 seats) in Cologne and the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany with 13,600 seats. Award

For the hosting of the World Cup of 2010, four countries had been whittled - Germany, Sweden, Slovakia and Belarus.

Germany received on 13 May 2005 by the participants of the annual congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation ( IIHF ) in Vienna the contract. In the vote, the application of the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB ) maintained by 89 votes against from Belarus ( 18 votes ). Group A in Kockelscheuer, Luxembourg
