François Rozenthal

François Rozenthal ( born June 20, 1975 in Dunkerque ) is a French ice hockey player who is since 2009 in the Corsaires de Dunkerque in the third-tier Division 2 under contract. His twin brother Maurice is also a professional hockey player.

Career

François Rozenthal began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Corsaires de Dunkerque, for their first team, he was active from 1992 to 1994 in Division 1, the French second division. Subsequently, the winger played two years for the Flammes Bleues de Reims in Ligue Magnus and received during this period in the 1995/96 season the Trophée Jean -Pierre Graff as rookie of the year in Ligue Magnus. He then played one year for Reims ' league rivals Club of patineurs lyonnais. In summer 1997, he signed a contract with the Gothiques d' Amiens, with whom he was French champion for the first time in the 1998/99 season.

For the 2001/ 02 season Rozenthal joined IF Björklöven from the HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second division. With his team, he failed in the Kvalserien the rise in the Elitserien. In the course of the season, the Frenchman scored 15 goals in 52 games overall and were eleven templates. Then he returned to his former club Gothiques d' Amiens, with whom he again French champion in 2004. In the following years he was among the best players in the Ligue Magnus, in the All-Star team, he was elected several times. From 2007 to 2009 he stood for the first division Pingouins de Morzine -Avoriaz on the ice. Since then, he plays in his hometown for the now relegated to the third-rate Division 2 Corsaires de Dunkerque, where he is team captain for the 2010/11 season.

Internationally

For France Rozenthal took part in the junior level at the U18 Junior B European Championships in 1992 and 1993 and the U20 Junior B World Cup 1994. In the senior level for France, he took to the B World Championships in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007, and the A World Championships in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2009 in part. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano and 2002 Salt Lake City as well as in the qualifiers for the Olympic Winter Games in 2002, 2006 and 2010.
