Frank Glover

Frank Glover (* June 27, 1963 in Indianapolis ) is an American jazz musician (clarinet, saxophone) and composer.

Biography

Frank Glover heard since the 1980s to the jazz scene of his hometown and was honored for his achievements in 1996 with the Jazz Performance Award from the National Endowment for the Arts. He took a number of albums under his own name for the label Owl Studios, meets regularly at Club Jazz Kitchen and on the Chatterbox, including many years with pianist Claude Sifferlen. 1996, he has performed in New York's Carnegie Hall, also on the Chicago Jazz Festival and the Indy Jazz Fest. Glover is currently working with a quartet of Zach Lapidus, Jack Helsley and David Scalia.

His compositions include works for choir and symphony orchestra; his influences include Bela Bartok and Toru Takemitsu. His album Abacus is a greater work for jazz chamber ensemble and jazz quintet that is the Third Stream near.

Glover lives in Indianapolis, where he works as a music teacher and author.
