Frank Stäbler

Frank Stäbler (born 27 June 1989 Leinfelden ) is a German wrestler. It was 2012 European Champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in lightweight.

Career

Frank Stäbler began in 1994 at the age of five years at TSV Musberg, a club in the city Leinfelden, district Musberg south of Stuttgart, where he still belongs with the rings, where he among other things, by his team mate Andreas Staebler (* January 3, 1968 - also base coach of the Württemberg Ringer Association ) was trained. He trained as an office administrator and is currently an IT specialist on.

First successes came as early as adolescence. He won practically in all age groups, starting with the B- youth on youth teams and the juniors, German title. In 2009, he won due to age the last German championship title at youth level. He was German junior champion at lightweight before Fabian Fritz TSV Benningen and Timo Badusch from KSV Köllerbach. In the same year he also started for the first time in the German Championship of seniors, but had to settle for third with a 10th place.

In 2005 he participated already in his first international championship. He came here at the Junior European Championship ( Cadets ) in Tirana in the weight class up to 60 kg body weight on the 7th Place. In the year 2005, also goes back to working with the former German junior national coach Jannis Zamanduridis. Just one year later, in 2006, Frank Stäbler then won his first medal at an international championship. He finished at the Junior European Championship ( Cadets ) in Istanbul in the weight class up to 58 kg 3rd place ( bronze medal ).

In 2009, Frank Stäbler won a bronze medal in the lightweight both in the European Junior Championship in Tbilisi as well as at the Junior World Championships in Ankara.

In 2010 he arrived in the German Championship of seniors behind Christian Fetzer TSV Herbrechtingen, against whom he defeated in the final battle with 1:2 rounds to 2nd place. He was then employed at the European Championships 2010 in Baku at lightweight. In his first fight he defeated there Ekström Frederik from Denmark on points, but was defeated in his next fight against the Olympic champion of 2008 Steeve Guenot from France on points and came in the final accounts to 12th place.

In the German championship of the year 2011, he came up behind Marcus Thaetner from RSV Frankfurt (Oder ) and Christian Fetzer to 3rd place after he suffered a brief point defeat in the semi-final against Fetzer again. Since Marcus Thaetner could not convince at the European Championships in 2011, Frank Stäbler got a chance to go to the World Cup 2011 in Istanbul at the start. He took advantage of this opportunity and defeated in his first fight Ivan de Jesus Duque Arango from Colombia to points. In the second fight he was defeated by Saeid Mourad Abdvali from Iran on points. As this reached the final battle, he was able to wrestle in the consolation round, where he defeated Mateusz Wanke from Poland and Darkhan Bajachmedow from Kazakhstan. In the fight for a world championship bronze medal he was defeated by Kim Hyeon -woo of South Korea scarce and controversial on points. He finished in 5th place. This placement earned him quite a eligibility for the Olympic Games 2012 in London.

At the peak of his career then the European Championships 2012 in Belgrade were. Excellent set of national coach Janis Zamanduridis, he defeated Sergei Mironovs there, Latvia, Ove Günther, Sweden, Hugo Da Silva Passos, Portugal, the local hero Alexander Maksimovic, Serbia and Georgian Carpen from Romania and became European Champion. Frank Stäbler won in June 2012, at the Grand Prix of Germany in Dortmund, beating in the final no less than the 2010 world champion at featherweight Hassan Aliyev of Azerbaijan. At the Olympic Games in London, he was defeated in his first battle against the presenting themselves in great shape Hungary Tamas Lörinz on points.
